The booth size I'm thinking about would allow a 20 inch item to be painted.
I'm cutting lots of plaques and am faced with the finishing task that we so much love. I'm starting to think about building a paint booth. Anybody here have experience with such an item?

Dave,
Check out this Google Video (approx. 15 minutes) by Ed Walicki at FishCarver.com. In it he describes how he made his DIY paint booth. Pretty cool and definitely do-able!
Make sure you share your build log (& plans),

Good video. I learned some interesting bits of knowledge.
My neighbor build a paint booth in his garage to paint his car. He used pvc pipe to build a frame all the way around the car. He then taped and glued plastic sheeting to the frame. I cannot remember how many box fans he used but I want to say he used six of them, all with thier own heppa filters. 3 pushed in air and 3 took out air. His car came out great but when does a cobra kit car look bad.You could do the same thing only in a smaller scale.
With the fish carver design wouldnt you have to worry about static electricity building up in the pipes that run up? Alot of people worry about it when they are building thier cnc's.
Like what was mention before post your progress I am interested. Good Luck
Makes me wish I had a squirrel cage fan. I had a 220 volt fan in storage (5 years ago), but my two legged helper talked me into getting rid of it. I'm not wired for 220 anyway and that's the straw the broke my will to keep it.
Regarding the spark danger, I was thinking about that too, even as I was watching the video from fishcarver. High air flow reduces that danger according to the video.
I did have thoughts about piping my vacuum dust collector into a paint booth, but that's now OUT. With the fire danger I wouldn't risk pushing those fumes into a bag of sawdust.
So far, no progress, other then scoping out some airhandling equipment. Here's a great deal, and will move some air too.You won't be disappointed with this baby.

I wouldnt be dissappointed but my wife would when I told her she will never be able to park in the garage againI bet the electric bill would also not make her a happy little camper.
