Hi,
could any one tell me how to make a groove on wood of with a CNC:
0,39 inch deep and 0,02125 thickness
also: 0,787" on 0,0275"
you can see it in the photo

interesting. there are endmills that are that size such as http://www.microcutusa.com/decimal2flute.php but you will be limited in depth. Otherwise it sounds like a job for laser if the holes are all the way through.
Hi aspenelm,
you are right, the job is done by laser and the hole is all the way through. but i'm trying to figure out how to do it with a CNC. I've visited your link but like you said, I'm limited buy the depth and diam (the relation between the 2). I've tried the tried with hitachi tools : http://www.hitachitool-eu.com/fr/pro...lid/form/ball/
but the active part of the cutter is too short. I broke one after 3mm depth. the material that's worked was not eliminated and did not go up. it constitueted an obstacle to upper cutter and it broke (150$ for one cutter).
Even if I go down with a larger diameter and after change the tool and go further down it could be ok since the diffrence between the 2 is not to large.
that's what I'm trying to resolve since a month.
the simpliest the hardest.
Sorry for my English
