    V-Groove cutter

    Hello Everyone

i didnt find the forum a was looking for to cut plastik so i am writting it here
    hope it is ok !
I am looking for a great cutter ( V-groove ) 90 degree to cut plastic and make some '' L '' . Is there any brand that anyone have to suggest ?
Have someone ever cut plastik ( acrylic ) 1/4'' with a v-groove ( 1 step , see on picture ) and did not go trought the material and let 1/32'' of material so after you can fold it and make a '' L '' (2 step) and use some Chloride of methyl alcohol to make glue ( you follow me ) ?
Its been a while that i am doing that type of object and i have been trought all type of problem ( plastik dust on face , wrong angle , bad cutter )
i am searching for a new way to make it nicer .

I hope i will get some advice
thanks a lot for your time

    Patrick

Cutting a V relief in most 1/4" or thinner plastics is not the best way to make an L. Many plastics will require a heat source at the bend in order to bend without breaking. The heat source will usually cause shrinkage in the bend area which will cause it to bow. We find cutting 2 pieces and solvent welding with a butt joint still gives us the best looking L.
If we use heat bending, we will nearly always jig up to press into correct shape.

use a 45 deg cutter, material would need to be 1/32' thiick engrave a line 1/64' deep the use a heating bar then fold. Looking at the 'L" what height is the wall and thickness and what width is the base and only 1/32' thick
depending on these measurements there are other ways to do it!..Ken
