    Bit Brand comparison

    Hey guys,
I was just pricing out some replacement bits for work, and I noticed some rather large price differences between some brands. I was wondering what your experiences are with certain brands. Which ones do you find last the longest? Which brands do you recommend/not recommend? I know that I am asking a broad question, but just post what you use, and why. One of my suppliers is starting to carry a brand called AML which seems to be generally cheaper than the ONSRUD bits that we normally get. If anyone has any information on those two brands in particular, that would be awesome.

I've had 3 of my 3/8" 2flute Down spiral compression bits chip in the past 2 months, so I was wondering if switching to a better brand would help that.

What are you cutting? If you're bits are getting chipped, it's typically from hitting foreign objects (stones or metal) in the board.
