what controller are you using? mach3, emc, turbocnc?
Hey, after a year of tinkering I finally tried cutting my first piece of wood this evening. For some reason, instead of moving continuously at the feed rate I set in Mastercam, the maching starts/stops in each operation which based on my acceleration value which is set to 4 (I have no clue if this is too slow or what too fast is either...) means that I never reach my 97in/m feed rate...
I've seen enough videos on youtube that show machines moving continuously instead of pausing at each line of the code. Am I doing something wrong? Can I change a setting to make this thing move faster through each line of code????
Thanks

Mach3
Also, my machine is the FLA-200 by finelineautomation
On the top bar-
Click on "config"
when the menu drops down click "General Config"
A new window will pop open.
you want to change from Exact Stop to "Constant Velocity"
Try that and let me know how it works out for you.
I can click on "Config" but I see no option for "General Config"...
Hmmm, you must be using a different version of mach3 than I. I have 3.042 on my machine. What version are you using?
In any case. What you need to do, is find where they may have the setting for setting it to "constant velocity" as you are currently running in Exact Stop mode.
Version R1.83.027
I'm guessing the control is still somewhere in there though. I guess I need to keep digging...
Or you could download the newer version from machsupport
Yeah, I have to go download... In the morning though. I just buried the tool for tinkering with stuff while the machine was running. Nice smoke cloud in the shop...
thanks for the help.
Just installed latest version and reconfigured to Constant Velocity. This thing is flying now!!! Thank you very much!!!
Thought you were going to quit for the night... Ha ha. I do that too. I say I am going to give up on something.... but I will just try this one last thing..... next thing you know it's 4am.
Glad to hear all is working for you. Post some videos. I would like to see it cruising around.
