Idea #1 is done, now idea #2

The engraving of the plaques worked quite well.
    Looking for ideas
Next I'm thinking about making picture frames for the baseball pictures. The picture size is 5x7 and the team photo is 8x10. I have a lot of left over Red Oak from making the kitchen cabinets so maybe I can make a couple of picture frames with nice reliefs on them. I have never done a relief in wood yet so I'm up for a new challange. I'm thinking cutting each side then use framing staples and glue to put it together. Has anyone done something like this? Any pointers you can share?
    Thanks!

It just so happens that I did something like this a while back. Over in the Sign Making forum's Portfolio thread is a photo of it. This one has Purple Heart inlays standing a little proud of the red oak, some lettering (flat bottom pockets), and a recess for an 8x10 photo and glass. I scanned the restaurant business card to 400% enlargement and traced around the San Jose with polylines in TurboCAD v16 Deluxe. The text is about 0.2" deep. The picture pocket is 0.25" deep. CamBam beta was used to generate the gcode. The oak is stained with golden oak, the lettering is stained with jacobean. Clear satin polyurethane for finish.

This was made as a gift for a local restaurant manager and is on prominent display there. The photo is of him and a Washington Redskins football player who visited there.

Thanks CO, that is a very nice frame. I have been hunting for something more traditional and so far I have found 1 free frame corner.
It is a little more detailed than I wanted but I did follow a tutorial on resizing a relief and I could try it as a test. I was more looking for the 4 seperate pieces needed for a picture frame, I'm still looking.
