You try Amana or Onsrud?
Hey Guys,
I'm looking for some specialty bits that i can't find anymore. Fist is single flute corner radius finishing bits. Basically for plastics and colorcore materials. I need 1/8" 3/16" and 1/4". I need the same in a two flute spiral with the same corner radius style. I had some a few years back I used in my regular router they were leftover from work ( yes i was told to take them home). To further explain, imagine a ball nose end mill with the tip clipped off. I've seen them called surfacing bits also. I just can't find them online.
Any help is appreciated
THanks
MH
You try Amana or Onsrud?
Yes, Thank you
I found the amana ingrove bit system i'm considering, I can order custom profiles in quant. of ten. I was looking for a spiral bit as well and onsrud doesn't have it either. The bits i'm specifically looking for were not expensive but apparently hard to find.
Thanks
MH
How about a corner rounding end mill? Not sure if you'll find a single flute, though.

Thanks Gerry,
....but that's the wrong direction. The corner radius needs to be on the bit not the material. The bits are like a bowl cut router bit. When making finishing passes it provides a really smooth finish in wood and plastic. The stepping you get in pocketing is mostly due to a little deflection on top of the sharp corners of the bits. It works much better and faster then a bull nose with reduced step over on the bit.
Thanks for the thought though,
MH
PS .... i found this on another quick search. The tool diagram on the left shows what i'm looking for but in smaller single and double flutes for wood.

I worded that backwards. I meant rounded corner endmills. You can get them at lots of places.
