    Post Marriage Counseling Wanted,

Marriage Counseling Needed, My lovley and understanding spouse turned me loose on my 2x4 8020 machine. I was able to get the gecko 540, 380 oz motors, the Hitachi router, router shoe, big red buttons, power supply case and the cool drag chain wire carriers. All she wanted was a china cabinet. I have been searching up and down, in the north, in the south and in the east for a CHina Cabinet cut file for cnc. She has already done the math, we could have bought the best china cabinet out there for what I have invested in this machine, granted I have made her little things, gargoyles, python snakes, and even a severed leg (Not Mine), but I promised her a china hutch. If any of the flat pack gurus have a cut file that I oculd cut on a 2x4 router for a hutch or a cabinet, It would save me thousands on therapists.

    Thanks

My condolences to your lovely spouse. She has no idea what you have successfully talked her into.

I don't recall seeing any cut files such as you seek but if you don't find any I guess you are now destined (doomed?) to find one that she likes and draw it up in a CAD program so you don't end up paying her lawyer's bill when the divorce is final. You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into either.

Maybe someone who frequents woodworking forums more than I do will come along and bail you out of your self-inflicted troubles.

    Good luck, and happy building.....

    The China Hutch

Well, I haven't found one yet. I will just have to draw one in aspire when I get it next month.

Then every cnc woodworker on the internet will want a copy of your plans for free. How's that gonna work out?

    Free Plans

I will just post them here, so they won't bother me...or over in the vectric forums....I have gotten so much from other people, my puny plans are but a small contribution to the group.

I was just poking a little fun at you. I'm always looking for free plans for useful things. It's just human nature. I would like to see a thread just for posting free DIY CAD drawings for furniture projects. A hutch can have ornate CNC carvings on it in the appropriate places. Those can be made using surface models from yohudi's thread.

I don't have free CAD plans for my CNC build but I have been asked about it a few times. I just show enough detailed photos that someone could clone it, or parts of it if they wish to. I have given away some left over parts. There is one person who has successfully built the Z axis from my build. I've seen variants of my cheap PVC pipe and drain flange monitor stand a few times since I came up with that one weekend. I don't mind giving my stuff away. It's part of the give back for what I've learned here myself.
