| Has anyone mounted a wood lathe on a mill table for turning? Only the X and Y would be used. You could use the router as a tool but a carbide bit mounted in a holder and afixed to the Z would probally be better. Would the Lathe portion of Mach 3 work this way? Just an idea. |

| Hello, My friend & I just bought a 4860 Shop Sabre. I am working on mounting a mini lathe with an extension on it. I am building brackets so the lathe can lay 90 deg. from upright to fit under the gantry. We are running WinCNC so I don't know about using Mach Lathe. However, in correspondence with Art, he suggested that it would be easier to use Mach Mill when I was working on automating my big wood lathe. I canceled that project. Eventually, we will put a 4th axis on the Shop Sabre to make 3d carved table legs. |
