    Question Sub $1k CNC, Possible???

Hello all, my name is Ryan and I am new here. I am an Air Force machinist and welder and I have come cnc experience as well as FeatureCam and Omax operations.

I am starting to make my own duck and goose calls and I am trying to see if I can get a small (mini/midi) cnc lathe going for under $1k???

A wood turning or metal turning operation would work either way but I would prefer to have metal turning capabilities with wood/acrylic as a backup.

Getting a small wood turning lathe and all the tooling will cost about $700 but I would prefer to have precision on my side "naturally as a machinist lol"

I have seen small 7"x14" mini metal cnc lathes and the conversion kits that you do yourself but I want to bypass all that if possible for a production used converted on...

I know there are a lot of gurus on here so please let me know what ya'll think about all this..

    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan

By waste structure I believe you mean a machine that is no good without some work???

I see that Mach 2 and 3 are software that is availabile but I already have FeatureCam so that would save me some money right off the bat.

You think I could get a structure, new drivers and motors all for under $1k?

Can you provide any links to stuff you are speaking of?

I have looked at the $$600 mini lathes from Harbor Freight and then the conversion kits but they are supposed to take abotu 40 hours to convert over lol...
