    also wincnc has to have the atc option activated on it to work for an actual toolchange otherwise you will get an error.

    you can find out what the card has buy going to the help menu in wincnc and about.

    thanks for the compliment

    i am really moving to provide a lot more for my clients, and cnc has really done it for me!! we have some really cool projects in the works with a lot of 3d work in it, so there is more coming!! the new camaster that is being installed tommorrow will really help us with the production.

    i have sent you my number so feel free to call, we will be making christmas presents on saturday with the machines.

    cnc helper, glad you are here! it is obvious you have been around wincnc awhile!

    have you had some experience with the relationship between the g09 setting for smoothing when using steppers for 3d? wincnc recommends 5 or up and that too high will lead to stalling (step loss)

    this is the default for the g09 yet many who use it have "z" lift or decline while running 3d files

    [Smoothing]
    g09=s30

    as well the axcelleration
    (a#) in the axis spec line, should it exceed the r in axis vel ??

    [Z Axis]
    axisspec=p0 s3 d3 r4981.862 o1 e1 a400
    axisvel=r100 f100 s5 m20 h100
    axishi=p3b0
    altaxislo=p3b1

    i do like reading your post and again glad you are here!!

    James,

    So what was some of the interesting insights you learned about the WinCNC controller?

    I am curious!

    wincnc

    we were working on settings for smoothing, velocity feed rates etc, i have two camasters in my shop and needed real close accuracy on my z for carving, kelly and i were chasing a problem (zdrop) from controller stand point that after much testing turned out to be a driver replacement issue, simple and in the end easy to fix but pinpointing it took some time, i do not know if i can shed any light on any great advances but for me to simply understand it is a great break though,,

    we are hoping to put a gathering together at a southeasten woodworking show where we can invite wincnc and other component manufacturers to further enlighten us end users!!

    Jim,
    Emailed the ini file today. Sorry it took so long.
    I'm wondering what needs to be done to turn on the 4th axis in WinCNC. It is on in the demo version Kelly sent me but not on the copy running the Shop Sabre. Also, it looked like you were running one of the vcarve products in one of your videos. Can they be made to generate code to wrap a bundle of grapes or whatever around a spindle?
    Thanks

    writing a 4rth axis in wincnc is no big deal and we have several guys with side lathes in our owners group. there is a program called wrapper circulated on vectrics forum, we will have to check it out
