I just purchased new Lincoln power mig 350 MP.
we are using it to join 12" 106 lb wide flange beam with 1" thick flanges.
it works very well with dual shield 71 and 75/25 gas. the Lincoln rep came to the shop to go thru the set up of the special features and showed us the pulsed mig with 0.045 solid wire and 90%argon10% co2, this is extreemly deep penetration with out slag or dingle berrys. we have only used 50 lbs of wire on this process but it looks like it is going to be very cost effective.
the power mig will cost a little more than the miller or hobart, but with its stick welding, fluxcore without gas, fluxcore with gas, solid wire and spray transfer. I would have to rate it as a true heavy duty industrial welder that runs on 240 volt single phase power. I have been welding for 39 years and this machine looks like it is going to be the go to welder for quick jobs as well as heavy production.
