    Mach compatible CNC lathe

Hey folks, I'm in the market for a Mach3 compatible CNC lathe. We've currently got a Jet 9x20 belt drive bench lathe and it's just a little too 'hobbyist' for our purposes. Would like to upgrade to CNC and get a little bit better quality speed control and potentially a slightly larger capacity.

Our shop currently has a vertical mill and CNC table (router/plasma), which are controlled by Mach3. It would be great if we could use the same workflow with a new lathe.

I'm being vague about specs because we'd like to buy the best thing we can afford. I think we're probably looking at sub $25k (not including tooling) for a budget. Is this realistic? Suggestions?

I'm having trouble finding much (if any) information out there on Mach compatible lathes.

As far as CNC machines, here's what I see so far:
    Microkinetics 1236 & 1340
    SmithyCNC 924 Lathe (Sieg C6)
    Syil C6 <-- Mach compatible

Anyone have any suggestions for slightly more high end machines?

honestly if your budget is 25000, then you are barking up the wrong tree looking for a hobby machine. i would look at something like a haas TL1 series. way more machine than any of the converted ones and they actually offer positional feedback to the control. but heck why stop there? for for 25k in the used cnc lathe market you can buy a nice hardinge cobra, or a nice nakamura, or a nice haas, or whatever. and you get the tool changer, coolant pumps, full enclosure, etc for free. now if your really limited on space, have a weight limitation, or a power limitation maybe these higher end units aren't for you.
