So I'm new to these forums and I can't seem to find any information on Ganesh Machinery here. I am having a problem viewing the forum w/ my work computer so that may have something to do with it. I work at an automotive shop and we are trying to find a mill comparable to a Bridgeport series 1 for general fabrication purposes. Most of the work that will be done on this machine will be aluminum brackets but it will see some stainless steel. I have been looking at a couple of used Bridgeports but so far locally there isn't really anything that gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Most of the equipment that I am seeing hasn't been in use for at least 7 years and is not fully functional. I have been looking at a Ganesh GMV-1 but I am not familiar with the company or the equipment. Does anyone on here have any experience with this mill? Also a friend of mine has been using a Splendor Mill from Taiwan that has been very reliable for him. Are there any other Taiwanese brands that have proved to be reliable. I am new to the machining industry and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

| May I ask why you would be focusing on just one (not-so-well-regarded) brand of machine? There are a wide array of Bridgeport clones out there, some of which I dare say are actually better than the original. I used to use an Alliant, another Taiwanese-made machine. It was really nice and 2/3rd's the price of a Bridgeport. Others here can chime in with their preferred brand of universal vertical knee mill. |

| I do not mean to focus on the Ganesh machine, I am actually looking for any Bridgeport clone but the only one that I have used is a Splendor but I cannot seem to find where to buy one. Do you know of any reputable Taiwanese manufacturers that produce a Bridgeport clone or anywhere wherr I could start looking? Thanks for the advice. |
