Hi! I was wondering if somebody in the UK could help me obtain some stepper motors with a 6mm shaft? I'm looking at these motors here: http://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/Catalogue/Stepper-Motors The motor 2nd one down: 180Ncm - 6mm Shaft GBP 15.57 each. When I try to buy 2, the shipping costs jump to GBP 70.19 which seems excessive. If the shipping is reasonable, I would be looking for 3 or 6 stepper motors and along with the cost of the motors+shipping I'd be willing to send you some extra paypal for your troubles. I'm located at zip code 98012. Thanks! |

Parcelforce (RoyalMail) is £67 for 3.5kg weight to US insured to £500 Fedex is £68 DHL will do it, uninsured, for £52, plus the £3.95 P&P per motor to get to me... total shipping... £64 Sorry but can't do it cheaper.... need to find someone who is coming over to US... BTW, if bought in the UK and shipped privately you'd pay VAT which makes then £18.30 each not £15.57

Thanks for checking the shipping prices. I'm just amazed at what it would cost for shipping 3.5kg (8lbs). GBP 67 is roughly equal to $106 US! I just checked what it would cost for me to ship 10lbs to the UK by US Post Office priority mail international and it would be about $37US or (GPB 24). Anyone know why there is such a huge shipping price difference depending on which way the package is going?

Hmmm...I don't think I can buy the shipping from the US for UK Royal Mail. Actually I just realized that the $37 shipping from US to UK would not be insured. Is there a no insurance option for the Royal Mail? I might be on a business trip to the UK early next year, so I guess an option would be to pick up the motors in the UK and carry them back.

No you wont for RoyalMail, but what about pickup by Fedex, UPS or another of the US based carriers? There isnt a no insurance option for Royal Mail, but there is a £36 cover instead of £500 cover... it doesnt change the price much though, only about £4
