currently a technology education (shop ) teacher near philly, USA...
My students are about to construct 1/24 scale slot cars.. in the past I have purchased (at a good cost) plastic "crown gears"
my supplier has dried up..
I am now in search of a new solution.. someone out there has to make an extrusion something like this

looking for an extrusion with a spur gear type profile that is approx .75 inch outside dia..

Might be of use - less than 3 bucks each and they have nearly 50 in stock?
I've been looking for some larger and happened on MSC as an option.
If metal is OK - how about McMaster - for gear stock - cut your own to length?
Stock Drive site ( http://www.sdp-si.com/ ) is down tooBUT, they do carry spur gear stock.
