Hi All!

I have been wachting the forum threads for the last 4 months...it is a huge source and have borught up a lot of ideas.
Well, I am a mechanical engineer, graduated 10 years ago, but I have worked as a mechanical engineer for just one year, at the beginning of my professional carrer

I have a need (nowadays I am working with sail boat buildind) of a large 5 axis CNC Design that will be used to mill MDF / polystyrene.

I use to build sailboats up to 30 feet. Actually I do not have a production stabilished, that is more like a hobbie thta I share with some friends (more 1 mechanical and other 2 eletronic engineers). As it is a hobbie at least by now, we would like to see if it is possible to purchase a complete design in order to let us build this machine

Our requirementes is that we need to have one single MDF / polystyrene block. I do not want to mill a lot of small blocks and then glue then togeher to form a the final plug of a hull or deck

I need a work area (x,y,z in mm) of 7,000 / 4,000 / 3,000 .For

The machine should be able to allow mw to work in steps. for y and z the limits are 4000 and 3000 mm respectively. but for the X axxis, I would like to have a non limit. For instance, letīs supose that I am milling a 10 metres long hull plug, for the first step I will mill it up to 7 metres and then I will have to move the mdf block in order to set the new zero and let the cnc finish the missing 3 metres. The machine / program may have some features that allow me to have a high accuracy during this zeroing process

Something very close in terms of the machine I need (although it is a 3d, not a 5 axis), can be found at http://www.onedesign.com.br/

Any comments are wellcome
Please, feel free to ask me anything that u need

All the best,
Roge
