I've built a small, 12" x 19" cnc mill but need a motor to drive my spindle. I can build any kind of mount or pully system just having a hard time with the motor it self.

Tried a sewing machine motor but it gets pretty hot and I don't think it will last long. I've only tried a test cut in wood and I could hear the motor straining after about a 8" circle with a 1/8 endmill.

Any info about a small ac or dc motor would be a great help.

I mostly will be machining aluminum.
