I'm searching for a CNC router that can work a block of ice. The blocks are up to 1500x500x250mm. The machine will operate in a room where the temp will vary between +5 to -10 celsius, so bearings, lubes, wiring, etc must be able to take freezing conditions on a continuous basis.
My research has found 2 machines that claim to be suited to this application:
1. A commercial machine by Infotech (InfoTEC 1210 F ICE CARVING)
2. A "semi" commercial machine by Elegant Ice Equipment
My questions are:
a. Does anybody have any first-hand experience with either of these machines or the suppliers?
b. What features wound make a machine suitable to carve a block of ice 1500x500x250mm?
c. If neither of these machines were a viable option, what would I need to look for in a machine that could operate in freezing conditions?
d. The machine will be operated in Australia so freight, delivery, parts, backup, technical advice are important factors
Many thanks in advance
