    Another Lathe Suggestion Question

I'm looking for a lathe. From what I have read the under $5k lathes are made in China. The $7k+ are made in Taiwan and of considerably better quality. I'm not opposed to buying a used American made lathe in the same price range, but it seems that most of these are well used and I really don't want another "project". Of the new Taiwanese lathes I am leaning towards the Sharp 1340VS. Is there another brand that I should consider? I really don't want to spend $10k on a lathe, but I would like to buy once if possible.

See if you can get your hands on a hwacheon. They bought all the old mori ms series manual stuff from mori. Exact copies, nice running machines. Think Webb does them as well.
