LAPTOP with com1 9 pin port or adapter

    Hello!

I was wondering if anyone knew any laptop manufactures that still use com1 ports. I use to to transfer programs to our cnc machines.

    OR

If anyone uses a usb to com1 adapter that they are happy with.

    Thanks,

    -Grant

just about every usb<->serial adapter we have tried in the last say 8 months (4-5 different models?) have worked flawlessly.

We have standardized tho on ones from Parallax.com as the price is good and they work for 100% of the stuff we do, which includes flashing firmware which can be time sensitive and hard on some el cheapo deluxe models....

at $ 17 bucks pick up a couple - they get lost easy!

BTW, it wont be obvious but the driver for these has some really cool settings that let you change the com port no (I make em com port 1 always for ease of use) but mainly they have an important setting a lot of others dont called "latency" that makes it work with about anything....
