Hi,
I want to do some 3D carvings in slate. Slate is regarded as one of the softer stones. Problem is, my home-built machine is wood, so I can't use water cooling. I saw a video on you tube, dry carving a stone sign. The bit is described as a special VHM ( Carbide ) tool with 12mm diameter and 90 degrees angle. It appears that the bit is a point with no flutes. The link to the video is ;-

I have contacted the shop in Germany, but they no longer stock this bit. I have searched endlessly for this bit without success. So can anyone help me track one down, or suggest an alternative I could use?

Thanks,

Gareth
