I am trying to buy a cnc router table in Europe, (I'm in France), and have a number of manufacturers to chose from. Many of the manufacturers here offer bare tables and then you add the equipment you want. I'm new to this and have little idea what power spindle I need for our requirements.

Basically, we are cutting and routing simple shapes out of 18mm birch ply with a phenol film coating. Depending on the supplier, I've had recommendations of spindles from 2kw to 6kw. The table would not be used intensely, being used almost exclusively for in house work and running for a max of about 15 hrs per week.

Any help would be welcome.
