does it have to be engrave in? Have you look into laser engraver quicker and won't crash.
I own a small machine shop in San Jose, CA. One of our customers have recently required us to engrave the part number, and serial number.
Since its a pain in the ass to make 100 different part programs because of the serial numbers. I'm looking to buy a cnc engraver. I know about cnc machining centers.... But I don't know anything about cnc engravers.
Do you guys know a brand or style of engraver you would recommend? We are looking for something that can be placed on a bench top. And a program that will automatically adjust for the serial numbers.
Thanks in advance
Mike

The best way to learn is trial error.
If $ is a problem the engraver machine is not that cheap either. The better option is use CNC machine center you have. What kind machine do you have and how is the serial engrave on the part look like? There are quite a few already ask this same question.
