Bridgeport BOSS cnc MILL no electronics. $300

Tomorrow i plan on taking a look at a bridgeport boss cnc mill Comes with no electronics, just a power supply. has a little rust, but looks to be in decent shape. The price is $300 dollars. I don't mind fixing things up and investing money, but what are the MAJOR things i should look that are technically NOT fixable? Ive already brought one machine from the grave back to life. why not another?! (the price is right, although i will have to sink a few thousand into it to get it back to life, not a problem though).

Any info on that mill? Was it a good mill? looking to convert it over to CNC obviously.

He has a forklift at his location, i would have to rent a forklift and probably remove the head, unless it can fit under a 7' garage door. Head probably has to come off anyways to be cleaned and painted..

    Thanks.

Looks like it has been stored outside for a while. I think I would pass on any machine that has been outdoors with that much rust; unless you plan to use it for spare parts.

I have Boss series 5, I am trying to figure out the purpose of CR3, it says in operaters manuel Spindle is interlocked through CR3 with the "Auxilliary Coolant Option", what does this mean ? my problem is CR3 is energised all the time preventing me starting Spindle, if I disable CR3 then my Spindle will start ok , I have SCA board diagram, but not much help, is it somthing to do with coolant level ???

Sean, you are in the wrong area. If you have a question (and want actualy help) locate the correct section (try metal mills). This is the "want to buy...need help" section. This thread is dead and closed.
