I have never heard of this brand? Is it any good? Any major pitfalls?

Best Bridgeport clones made, in my opinion, and better in many ways than the original. Silky-smooth operation, even the rotating grips that a Bridgeport didn't get. Where BP made a 48" table, Alliant went to 50". Bridgeport didn't start putting dual table and knee locks on their machines until AFTER Alliant and Sharp did.

That's an older one and doesn't appear to have the 3HP motors they put on their later ones, but still pretty good machines.
