Is there a dxf software program that will allow me to import a photo/sketch/rough drawing as a starting point? Thanks...BP
Vision Numeric software will do that as well. You can import your bitmap image (tif, jpg, png, etc) and vectorize with one button. They have several packages based on your needs, but most will allow you to easily vectorize your starting image. If you have a grayscale photo, they also have a grayscale to 3D which is a one button 3D conversion of your grayscale images. If you still have questions, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here's an awesome utility that let's you lay an image in front of ANY application. Then you can trace right over it.
