Default CNC SHARK vs Stepcraft 840 help

New to the CNC stuff. I primarily deal with woods and some engraving. Wood products are small to medium size, like coat racks, gun racks, light switch covers ect. The engraving is for dog headstones type items. Which of these machines would best suit my need? I cannot decide and figured I would ask the real in the field knowledgeable people!!! Thank you so much in advance!!CNC Shark Routing System, with New 7.0 Software | Rockler Woodworking and Hardware or https://stepcraft.us/product/stepcra...op-cnc-system/

I've never seen a Stepcraft, but the Shark is way overpriced.
And the Stepcraft runs UCCNC, which is far superior to the Shark control.

I've only seen the Shark Pro here and for a machine made primarily out of plastic with crappy unsupported round rails, it's an absurd cost IMO. The profit margin on them must be astronomical surely, as it's made from very cheap materials?

The Stepcraft looks to be better, but is still well overpriced I think.

But if I really had to choose between them, I'd likely go the Stepcraft I think.

    cheers, Ian

    It's a state of mind!
