Stepper kits - XORIES, Ocean Controls, others ??

Hi all

I am about to start on the Mark II version of my build, the original machine has quickly proved too slow and limited in table size, though it did work well as a proof of concept and will be used to manufacture some of the parts of its successor.

My new plan is for a 1200mm x 1200mm JGRO style on supported rails, yada yada. The point of this post:

I am tempted to buy one of the complete kits from Ocean Controls, 3x NEMA23 350oz motors, breakout etc but the $$$ is almost triple the HK eBay listings. Does anyone have experience with XORIES, easyCNC or any of the other Chinese vendors out there ?

Check out these two local suppliers:

Homann Designs
Ausxmods

Both supply stepper motors and Gecko drivers.
You might want to check out Woodworking Forums. There are a lot of CNC builders there who can advise on local and eBay sellers.
