I posted this question over on the mecsoft support forum but thought I would try here as well.
Here is what I have:
I have a rectangular piece of stock which needs to have a hole bored at a 7 degree angle to one of the edges.
Here is my problem:
I can set-up the part geometry so that the hole is bored properly; however I can't get the stock to line up properly with the part. I have tried several different ways to try and get the part/stock to align and just can't tell it to do what I want. If I create the stock immediately after importing the geometry I can get the stock I want. The problem though is when I get the geometry positioned properly for the boring operation I cannot get the stock to line up. Basically the stock becomes perpendicular to the geometry and won't rotate to fit the part. If I set-up the part geometry for the boring operation and then apply stock I get too much stock and the part is aligned at an angle inside the stock, which makes the other operations (which would be perpendicular) angled. I don't want this. What I basically want is to put a box around my part and then rotate them both so that my stock is a rectangular piece of box stock at a 7 degree angle. Anyone know how to do this?
