I've got lots of little issues with this program. It's the most counter intuitive piece of software I have ever used. Can anyone that has had more experience with these things give me a hand. Here are a few of the issues...
I can't get the dimensioning function to lay down the dim for depth. it will do vert, horiz, and oblique, but none of these options will give me a dim in the z value for the part I am working on. Totally aggravating!
I can't find anywhere in the program that will give me the location and properties of an object I've selected. in my CAD programs I can click on an object and there are all sorts of properties in a small window that will tell me the location the angle the dim and all the pertinent info... Why not in VM? Am I just missing it? I click on properties and it brings up totally useless junk for info....
The articulation of the part in the 3D window, is absolutely hair pullingly frustrating. Anyone know of any settings that will make it function with more ease? When you right click in the window and want to rotate the part just a bit to get a better line up for selecting or placing anything, the part flies wildly around the it's pivot. It's very hard to keep it justified. And, I can't figure out just how it's set, as to try to get used to it. Another very aggravating unintuitive programming mistake by Mecsoft... Can someone please help?
I mentioned on another thread that the copy paste function has a setting for making too many duplicates. How do I copy and paste without getting twice as many as I need?
There are several more little things like this that are driving me nuts. But if I could get someone to enlighten me on just these things for now, I can at least feel like I can regain control over my work.
Thanks to anyone that can shed a little light on these topics for me.

I had all of these same issues when I first started using VisualMill. It doesn't take long before you realize it's a cam program not a cad program. Not even close. The cad stuff is just there to do a bit of 'touch up'. Usually, if I need to change the drawing, I just delete it, go to my cad program, make the changes and re-import it. VisualMill does this very, very well. If you're adding to the drawing, just draw a single layer and import that.
I seldom try to 'tumble' the view, it's just too uncontrollable. I use the various view icons then tweak the view as slightly as I can.
Once you learn to switch back and forth with your cad program, and start using it as a cam program, most users are very pleased. IMO, the cam stuff can't be beat for the money. It more that makes up for the deficiencies on the cad side of things.
Good Luck,
Walt
