    C AXIS machining?

What I'm trying to do is machine a part that is "too big" for my machine i have the x movement needed but not y. I also have a rotary table at my disposal so the idea is put the rotary table as a C axis on the table bolt the part and have the table rotate as the x axis moves in and out to profile the part thus eliminating the y axis all together. the problem is i cant make visual mill understand. in the setup tab i changed the 4th axis to other and made z axis the rotary table and the green axis arrow shows up as expected. then i use the 4th axis profiling tool to select what i want to profile and the program completes (no errors) but the actual path is really wrong just way out in space. not to mention if i preview the path it shows the tool perpendicular to the axis of rotation this is not what i want but i dont see an obvious way to fix it. if somebody has done this before please help. even if you have not done this but have a good theory let me know ill try any suggestions at this point.

Yes, your post is confusing and yes I have likely done something similar.
Try to simplify your questions and post it on the MecSoft forums.

Try changing it to a B axis....B rotates around Z that might be confusing the software..
Is this a HMC or VMC ? I've done something close to this....
Let me know how it turns out..
    Good Luck~!
