    Inlaying vith VM?

I have been reading about this nice method for inlaying with V-carve:
Vectric Forum • View topic - A simple way to make inlays
and scratching my head over VM/Rhinocam trying to do the same trick.
V-carving is easy enough, but making the inlay part is worse.
And what do I do if the material is to thin to v-carve to full depth? It does not seem possible to make flat bottom cuts. May add some screen shots later.

If you have the profile you want why not use it to create a solid and use horizontal roughing and parallel finishing?
