crashed machine, viper not coming up

4 axis milling machine has been running great. Very satisfied. Bob Cambell board and viper 200 drives, driven by mach3.
I messed up and ran past a limit switch and the axis hit the end of travel. I manually moved the axis back and tried to reset the drive by disconnecting the viper 200, but the little red light starts flashing immediately, and the green axis indicator light on the bob is out. This was late last night and didn't have time to dig the book out and start troubleshooting.
Did I fry the board?

Replaced 15 amp fuse and I'm back in the saddle.

Great, that fuse is there to save the motor. The fuse should be rated at or just above the continious current of the motor to save the windings incase the machine gets stuck or sits forcing the motor.

I've talked to many people who run without limit switches and had a machine sit stuck at the end of the travel pushing, and then poof ... there is a bad smell of the motor fried! . 10 seconds at double the current can fry a servo.
