2011 CNC Workshop

Just returned from my 2nd CNC workshop - again it was a lot of fun!

Some of my observations:

The new building with an auditorium and ample sized class rooms was a big improvement this year, even though the hands-on stuff (the mill project workshop, the G&M code class, Rick's castings, as well as Washtenaw's machine shop) was on the other side of the campus. I didn't find it to be all that much of an obstruction.

Glad to see some new vendors there, like Little Machine Shop.

Ben Fleming's electrode based EDM machine was very interesting.

I thought having a WCC instructor give the G&M code tutorial was a great addition - it was a pleasure hearing someone with so much industry (and teaching) experience give it.

Anyway, thanks George for all the work and for a smoothly run event!

Having been a vendor once, I know what a pain it is to cart up everything and haul it across the landscape to attend a show. Despite that, I appreciate all the vendor's efforts, as I think they are an important part of what the show has to offer its attendees.

Of course, all who did presentations were greatly appreciated as well.
