Awesome!! Thanks so much for posting! I just happened to be thinking about designing a DIY cable carrier myself, then I stumbled upon this on youtube. You've saved me a lot of time. Thanks again!

Thanks for posting the dxf! Now I know what I'm going to use that piece of 1/8" pvc for, that I had laying around! Thanks!

WOW - - - You must have one hell of a big machine. Your DXF in AutoCad measure 101 5/8".

Make sure you import in mm. My drawing was in mm and was exported in mm. The width of the slots should measure 1/8" or 3.175mm.

Also I have doubled the size of the cable carrier ends. Everything is working great carrying 1 large extension cable, 4 stepper cables, and a small switch cable. It think my cable carrier ended up being about 12 feet in length for my 10 foot long table. I feel like I am right near the limit for what 1/8" mdf will handle.

Here are the .dxf files converted from metric to inches for the "Big" Cable Carrier....
I hope this helps some one.

This is perfect. I have a design that came with my cnc build (kronos) but it cannot handle the length of my table and it sags under the weight of the cables and then binds. Its great for smaller tables but not the 8' one I built. This looks like it would be far better. What is the maximum length you have run with this? I use sketchup more than any auto cad and I'd love the skp file if you would be willing to post it too. Maybe I could resize the model to fit my machine better. Thanks in advance.

    Manage Attachments:............Says this.

"Valid file extensions: bmp doc dwg dxf gif jpeg jpg mov pdf png psd rar txt wmv xls zip"

I have the .skp files, but as you see above 'Manage Attachments' will not let me send them. Go Figure. jilt, If you can send me a PM with your e-mail I will send them to you.
    Gene
