Hi. I’m new to this forum and CNC and have read various threads about the Chinese water cooled spindles but are still unsure as to whether you can use these spindles on metal harder than aluminium as most people are using them on wood. I want to do some work on brass up to 6cm including drilling holes of less than 1mm and I was attracted by the 0.005mm run out and the quietness. I’m contemplating either getting an X2 or making a mill using a CNC’d compound table bolted to a right angle frame with the spindle mounted on a “Hiwin” linear rail system. I thought I ask for people’s opinions of this idea. |
