I am a newb CNC builder and am currently in the planning and collection of parts stage of my build. I have the chassis parts for my mill which will be as follows. 300 - 400mm (12-16") X, Y table and ???in Z It will have a 500W (or depending on availability 710W) die grinder as i wish to machine aluminium. My question is for the stepper or servo motors running the table and head movements (all 3 axis) I dont know what spec motor i need. Somewhere i read Nema23 3Nm but thats pretty vague when i look into 3nm Steppers. Is the 3Nm Axial torque? Any help would be appreciated as this is my greyest area of knowledge (its all a shade of grey ) |
