I want to replace my X2's POS sealed bearings because I get a funny noise, my brother makes fun that I am running my X2 with a prop engine because that's what it sounds like at high rpm's. At low rpm's, it seems more or less like a slight rattling, run out [now] is .004 approaching .005 (mind you the mill is 5years old). fortunately a friend of mine works for an auto parts supply warehouse and is willing to sell me a couple of timken angle bearings...only i haven't the vaguest idea of what size i need, let alone the size compatible to the POS bearings that came equipped with the mini-mill, Also, I do have sealed angled ball bearings but I have no idea which side the angle of the sealed ball bearings actually is. Can any one give me info?

| Check out the 6206-2RS bearings that VXB sells. It looks like they are the same whether you have the MT spindle or the R8 spindle. They are 30mm bore x 62mm outer x 16mm width. Alan

| Have a look at the littlemachineshop parts list for the R8 mini-mill - I have a feeling that it uses a 30mm ID bearing at the top and a 35mm ID one at the bottom - both just cheapo shielded bearings. I don't think you want to try fitting A/C bearings - you haven't got room for a pair in the nose end. |

...so, in order to get the compatible size timken angular bearings I have to either look for the numbers: 30mm, 35mm and 16mm? These are actual timken angular bearings much like those found on automotive wheel spindles. and do I necessarily need two bearings in front and one on the rear of the spindle? Either way guys...thanks for the info
