I have a Standard Modern 13/34 and I am considering converting it to CNC control. Actually I am considering getting a "parts machine" and converting IT. The one I have now was in some sort of storage/warehouse arrangement and only got used a couple times since it was made in the early 90's. So, it's NICE .. and I hate to "mess it up"...

but.. anyways, on to the subject. I want a complete kit that comes pre-wired so that all I have to do is make the servo/stepper mounts, wire it up and go for it.

I'd like to be able to have flood coolant control, and hopefully motor control.. I'd also like to be able to thread - so I guess a spindle encoder is probably a pretty important thing as well.

Does anyone make such a kit? I've looked, and while I am not sure what size steppers to be looking for, I haven't seen many "kits" for lathes that are this big - it seems to be just over the "norm"..

any help is greatly appreciated. If it's a topic thats been beat to death, perhaps I am using the incorrect search terms.
