Finishing CNC plasma table and NOW thinking about converting my Grizzly knee mill after machining all the plasma parts.... Have no CNC experience so I want to use servos with the Dynatorch plasma driver/software package for cost savings and learning only one software. Will swap acme thread for ball screw. Lots of slop in X-Y bedways even with adjusting gibbs. Question is, I have large trucks and linear rails left over from plasma project. I saw conversion kits somewhere using these for parallel cross slides and wonder if that is viable option particularly with this large of mill. Seems that it would give very smooth motion and could give me more travel distance. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Suprisingly, wife suggested this idea Thanks |
