What ever taper your spindle has get you some collets to fit ( R8-3MT-2MT, which ever it has).

You could get you a ER collect set to fit your spindle with a size that works good for your tooling ( ER32-ER25-ER16 which ever has sizes to work with your needs). Then get a few extra collect holders and you could have all bits/cutters loaded in holders for a job so tool changes would be fairly quick.

A drill chuch will wear out and also not hold bits/cutter the best. With collets your bits/cutters will last and perform better because they will be more true with less runout of the cutter.

You can get sets from places like LIttle Machine Shop that are affordable with pretty good quality. Or you can get better ones from places like Glacier or ENCO and many other places. It depends on how much runout and wear you can live with as to what quality level systems to buy. Ofcourse they all will out last and perform a drill chuck with ease.

Or you can just get a set of collects that fit your spindal dirrect depending on what size your spindle is.

So what tapper is your spindle, we could suggest a set of collets for you if we knew?
