Now it's time to setup the electronics. I'll be using a C11GS at first but will add an ESS and a C24 board to have more inputs.

Nice that the power supply for the X axis stepper is DIN rail type. Also, I'll be looking for a good rail adapter for the stepper drivers. There are tons of adapters on the net but I don't know which one to buy.

    Some more images.

I'd like to mount the transformer to the DIN rail, along with others but the transformer weighs about 5kgs. Do you think this would cause a bent on the base sheet or the DIN rail? The rail is aluminium extrusion and the base is stainless steel 0.75mm (or 1mm. I'm not sure right now).

By the way, I decided to mount the drives the the DIN rail too and made an adapter to between the drives and the rail adapter.

(Ignore the black bolts you see in the pics. I've replaced them with proper length stainless steel bolts)

If you ever need parts from İkitelli OSB, Bayrampaşa, Karaköy or anywhere in European side of Istanbul, send me a PM. I'd be happy to help!

I'm progressing slowly but I'm in no hurry.

I've used shielded cables on between the BOB and the drivers. Connected the shields to the earth terminal blocks. I don't know if it was really necessary though.

    Wiring is almost finished.

The thing on the last photo is my new toy. A drill bit sharpener.

I think I've found the smallest and cutest e-stop button

(I didn't know it was that small)

    Azalin,

I encourage you to keep going to complete your CNC mini-lathe. I would like to correspond with you about developing G-code for this machine.

    Thanks Marion. I'd like to.

Some updates. I got all axes as well as spindle up and running. I also went to a shop and get a chips tray made out of 1.5mm 304 stainless steel sheet. And I wanted to lift the machine a bit for easy cleaning. So put two 40mm thick aluminum under the machine.

The C3 board from cnc4pc does a nice job. Setting up Mach3 was horrible though. The C11GS (updated C11G) is very nice too. I'm going to get another one to have more inputs. Or I'll get an ESS with a C25 terminal board in order to have all inputs and outputs.

    Here are some pics.

I just into this thread but I think I have talked to you before. This is a very nice setup, but I think you are going to be better of using Mach4 and the PoKeys with the M16 is can handle a real encoder on the spindle. Let me know if you want more info on this. Checkout how this controller is wired:

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I'll keep that in mind Arturo. Thanks.

Time for an update of a little progress.

I got this nice Schneider e-stop button. It has one NC contact block but I can add another one if I need.

I've repaired the plastic part seen in the photos. The e-stop button will be mounted on it. I painted a yellow circle for more visibility.

Now all the main parts are finished but there's still one last thing I need to build. The enclosure.

By the way i still don't know how to hide the cable of the X axis stepper.
