I tough nobody read / watch this topic
Thx James, I saw your threads, you also have emco machines and you went with CS LAB equipment, I can say that support is good from CS LAB , they helped me few times, now after newest firmware update I do not get ePid fault error so often , actually thing that bugged me is that I could not understand why do I get it , manage to discover pattern how to get it but not what is wrong in things that I did . They recommend certain version of Mach3 to use, and I use it only thing that it have some bug that warns you faulty about soft limits, it is falls warning so I just press OK and cycle start...
Anyway, there are lot of nice machines with broken controllers and I think it is good way to learn how real machines are made (what is all inside off them) and it is good opportunity to make them running again and to learn new things. Also when something breaks you will know how to fix machine , what to buy / replace in order to work again. There are lot of simple things to do, to make machine running as you / me image to run as we expect, I tried to show what all imaginable and unimaginable problems can occur in this tread. I am automation engineer but never got chance to work until I stared to work on this machine, did not have any working experience so could not write much in CV so somebody can employ me , but when I wrote in CV that I have CNC lathe on which I am working suddenly I became interesting...
Thank you one more time on nice comment, I bet your machine will be same quality as mine, just dont strip original paint
