Hey buddy, did u stick weld that?!?, u have to first start on the solid surface with a good ground, then work your way onto the floated piece, bad connection can mess it up. Also I will be updated my page in a couple of days, I got a buddy helping this next week to finish the lthe enclosures!
Cool buddy, I don't like stick welding for sheetmetal, its fairly good for large structural steel though....
Hi community, hi Greg , hi Pete, hi Mike (what is with you?) I hope yours Emcos are machining some stuff
I did not post for long time anything because I got job after 4 years "sitting" at home so I do not have so much free time as before plus I work in Germany (so my machine is not with me ), anyway today and yesterday I continued my welding adventures with arc welding machine but with different electrodes , I bought 6013 type as I remember (it was 3 months ago) and they are 2 mm and metal sheet is 1.5 mm, so probably tricky to weld even for professionals. I connected electrode on minus terminal, I read they are designed for that kind of polarity and after experimenting before 3 months and yesterday I manage to close some holes. On pictures there are place on machine where are 2 holes , I manage to close them only with electrode (no additional sheets of metal). Off course I did not finished yet repair 100% but I feel little better then when I made all those holes first time.
So it is possible to weld 1.5 mm thin metal sheet but it is hard and you will make lot of holes before you figure out how to move electrode in order not to make holes which even did not exist before
Here are some pics , like I said it is not finished yet so it is little ugly but there are no more holes (there is one but on awkward place so I need to see what to do with that) .
Happy new year to all people
Good to see you back Marco !!!!! The lathe is looking really good

I posted this video more less same yesterday but because of music copyright video was blocked in 99% of the world so I bring new video with few new details and instead of old video I will put music video that was blocked.
Awesome Thread. Am absolutely loving watching you breathe life into a machine that could potentially never have run again. With the patience and care you are putting in, I am sure the Emco will be producing high quality parts once again.
Excellent work Marco !!!!! Now you have me wanting to do something similar with my spare EMCO 120

Marco, are you using a homing routine on start up for the turret ????
pete
Thank you, I would love to see what you will do.
For now I have 2 things to solve about tool changer, because I use y axis to control turret I can not engage soft limits and when I want to home machine I need to manualy write G90 before homing, hope I will solve those things soon.
