I could not be more DISAPOINTED in V23 and Bobcad as a company

I purchased V23 after owning the bug filled 2007/V22

It was the cheapest way for me to program a fairly complicated 1/8" radius around a hole on an OD of the part- 4th axis work

I talked to the sales man, who was nice. Who put me with a designer about and he walked me through doing the application.
I purchased the V23 and so many days of technical support to get it going. I had a job that needed this on the machine with a 4 day deadline.

I talked to technical support, who I could never talk to at first call, always a call back, every time over an hour, usually much longer.

I had a few people show me how to do it. I easily unwrapped it and got it drawn and after all kind of tickytack problems generated tool path.

The tool path did not work. It always cut an oval it never went around the preexisting circle. It was way off.
After having a tech see the same thing, I was told cutter comp WILL NOT WORK on any 4th axis work, ok.
After that I offset it generated paths again, didn't work, still an oval, although less of one.
The tech kept getting paths but couldn't tell how far off I was.

I was told to keep decreasing the size of my stock to get it to work, which it finally did.

My beef to Bobcad was that it wouldn't do what it was advertised to do, and I wanted a refund.
After talking to another tech, and another, I was told the machine can't read the code correctly. BS

Lastly I was refused a refund and I was allowed a tech (again) to go thru it with me and they would tape it and send me the tape.
That was left on my voice mail, I called back wanting to talk to them, they will not return my call.

DO NOT BY ANY BOBCAD PRODUCTS, this is a cut rate product with MANY BUGS and it will not deliver what is publicized, and then they do NOT DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS PROFESSIONALLY AT ALL

    Thank you

Smile My BC story (again, because they call and remind me every so often)

They keep calling.... even when you politly explain that you are not happy with the product...you were stupid enough to buy the first time. They got me from v18 to v22. Offered to give me v23 for free when posted about the problems! I said, to be fair,I would have to think about commiting the amount of time it takes to get a handle on using it. So, I would call them back and let them know. Just when I decided to go ahead and try it again (for free) I got a sales call from one of them saying they had this special just for me of $98. Hummm?? What happened to the "Free" ?? He said he didn't know anything about that...and would have to get back to me. I told him the sales girls name..... and I'm still waiting for that call and the free version upgrade. I would have given it a fair try and posted on how it worked too.
I wonder if their CEO (if they got one) reads any of these post? He/she should, they are very informative about how they are supporting their product. Not good.
The latest call (today) was for this great class to learn BC here in nearby Sacramento Calif. 400, 500, 600, bucks or something like that... I don't recall. Politly explained again about how I was waiting for that call back on that "Free" upgrade...??? He didn't know anything about that and quickly said sorry to bother me as I was explaining to him about it all. I didn't even get around to telling him how I had once paid to go to one of those classes. The salesman said it was suppost to be for beginners...It wasn't said the instructor...what a waste of money and time. Oh ya this instructor "was pack'n" by the way. If you don't know what that means... PM me and I'll tell you. You think I'm just making this up? Put me on a Bible and a lie detector...I'll tell it all again.
Just about the time I forget about them... they call me. Then I feel like posting something again. Maybe they should put me on their "do not call list". Because everytime they call me I'm going to post what the call was about and recall these stories. Maybe someday, I'll have something positive to say...???

BobCAD is a very useful entry level CAD program. They have a good instruction manual and good video instructions as well. I ran v21 for a few years with it, but never generated a line of code, and no real help from the Tech department. I originally even purchased the one year of tech assistance which was also a waste of money. I learned CAD and generated many DXF files with BobCAD, which I generated code from on another software. After getting very comfortable with it, moving to AutoCAD was a smooth transition. If you expect it to do all that is claimed it will do, you will be dissappointed. If you are looking for an entry level CAD program with plenty of instructions, on a simpler platform, for less money, BobCAD may be right for you.

This may sound unethical to many people but a simple trail just isnt good enough most of the time.
Ive been downloading Torrents for ages. If the program lives up to what it is and it something I will keep I do buy it.
Allot of programs just are not what they are claimed to be and Im very happy I get to use them before I buy them there have been 100s of occasions were they program was a outright POS and I would of been very unhappy if I paid for that just to find it out.
Most people who download dont pay for the program once they got it and thats just wrong if some one put there time and hard work to create it and you just steal it .
Take my post for what it is Food for thought,
    Anthony
