    Roadrunner Transport. Services

    Hi All

I wish to voice my complete disgust towards Roadrunner Transportation Services.

Almost two months ago, I purchased a HAAS rotary table from MachinesUsed.com. I paid $3500 for it. They recommended that I use Everyday Shipping to send it from Minneapolis to my Northern California shop. I did as recommended and paid Everyday Shipping $241 to ship it to Calif.

They picked it up from the auction house. They in tern contracted with GlobalTranz who in tern contracted with Roadrunner.

Roadrunner lost it! I mean to say they actually lost a 250 pound pallet with a HAAS rotary table strapped to it. They have no clue where it is. After weeks of phone calls and emails, Roadrunner stated that is worth only $135 (scrap metal prices). They claim that damage goods are only worth pennies on the dollar. I told them “show me the damage!”. Of course, they could not because they lost it.

I realize I need to file against Everyday Shipping. Thus far, their insurance is not stepping forward. It’s become a real nightmare to say the least. We are a small mom and pop shop that does not have the recourses to run out and buy another.

What I would really like is for Roadrunner to step up and do the right thing. But so far, they refuse to accept responsibility.

So please, before any of you make the same mistake, I recommend that you run from anything with Roadrunners name on it!!!!!!!

    Thanks for reading this.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. That shipping company was unknown to me but now will never be forgotten.

If you paid on credit card, dispute the charges.

    Hi

We actually wanted to pay with a credit card. The auction house would only take a wire transfer.

The truckking company said they were fully insured. What I did not know was that "insured" means damages, not loss.

Interstate small claims can take a few years and a lawyer will cost twice as much as the darn thing is worth.

What I have done is to take this to CBS news in Sacramento. We'll see if they can rattle some cages.

    Keeping my fingers crossed!

    Roadrunner transportation Services

    Hi All

I have learned even more. I discovered that even though a trucking company may claim to have insurance, that insurance will not necessarily cover used machienery. It's some kind of federal regulation (to protect the trucking industry).

Their coverage is most often pennies on the dollar in scrap metal prices.

At this point, I doubt that I would ever buy something used again that requires shipping. New machinery is a different story completely.

    More to come !

I still think you have a case against the seller. The price paid was for goods. No goods have been received. I cannot imagine any judge or jury that would not award a refund. I am sure you have proof of your wire transfer with description of the item purchased. And it is obvious you have not take delivery of said item.

    Hey Txcncman

Indeed I have all documentation. But actually the claim is against the freight forwarding company. They are the ones that I paid to ship the goods. There is no disput about the seller. I paid them independently.

The freight forwarding company then turned it over to Roadrunner. So, I need to collect from them and they need to collect from Roadrunner.

Unfortunity they are really stuck in the middle however they are ultimately responsible.

Lawyers have already told me that although I can get a small couts settlement, forget ever collecting from out of state. I would need to travel back east to take my claim there and try to collect. That will cost much more that the value of the table.

But still , I am keeping my fingers crossed.

PS: My goal here is not the pitty pot. I just really want everyone here to understand how messed up shipping used machienery can be. I

    L.B. Myers,

Nice HAAS rotary table for sale. We would be happy to take more of your hard earned cash as long as you pay by bank wire transfer.

    See attached picture:

As you can see it is in like new condition,
