I carved this last summer and meant to post a picture of it before this but just have been to busy.
Carved in pine. I used sanding sealer then a gelstain (Antique maple) then 3 coats of laquer.
This goes below a window. The carving measures approx. 16"x60"
Close up of the bear. I touched up the eyes with a dremel type tool.
to save from having to use to small of a ball nose bit.
Close up of the moose. Again touched the eye up with the dremel.
Close up of the cabin. Didnt' have to do any touch up on this.
This was a fun project. I can't remember the machining times or feeds.
I think roughing was a few hours probably at 150ipm. Finish was
I think 9 or 10 hours with a 1/8 ball and feed was probably 150.
I think I could have got away with a 3/16 ball nose bit.
Design was done in Aspire.
