What CAD to get for Cut2d?

    Hello All...

I'm currently using sketchup pro, but can't get cut2d to open the dxf. I'm wondering if there is a better cad for 2.5d work that will work better with cut2d. A few of the CAD's that I have tried will import the image, but the scale is off and needs to be edited. Depending on the part to be cut, that might be a pain...
What inexpensive (less than $100) cad's have people used that are easy to use that translate well with cut2d?
    Thanks! -4ist

Both DoubleCAD and ProgeCAD have free versions that should work fine with Cut2D. Just Google them.

Thanks for the input. Seems that cut2d is particularly picky about which type of DXF it will read. I tried demo's of 8 different CAD's and the winner for now is TurboCAD. Now just to decide on version 16 ($89) or version 15 ($32).

    Cheers, -4ist

Always use version 12 .dxf files. If you use that option, you shouldn't have any problems.

ViaCAD2d/3d does an excellent range of dxf exports from R 12 to R 2009. Many other export options too. www.punchcad.com/products/viacad2d3d.htm

If you are doing any artistic stuff try CorelDRAW X4 and the latest DXFTool. Both free to try.
