wow..great work and excellent finishing...Thanks for sharing the pics... I think you will cover up very soon...
One of the above design, the corner one, is 4th axis work..thats really nice
kahlid, i am learning files are pretty much the way they are written, you can stretch em flatten um but not really change em!! i ran the grapes again with the 1/16 bit (and a little slower on maple this time) the results are really great and the grapes really beautiful to the eye, the detail however between file to file or program to program is kinda like looking at a painting of a beautiful pond behind a house and having some one say "theres not enough water in the pond!
i am having better results with smaller bits and slower run files!!
Thanks for posting..Now the pictures are good... But still i have queries as indicated in the attached picture.
1- there are some steps in bottom most grapes..
2- The top grapes are not spherical , they are flattened...
Can you post the picture of relief file...
If i was machining the file, i will never use rough cut and will have to cut the complete file with single pass...
I think, The steps and consequently flattened grapes are coming due to one of the following reason...
1- Bad tuning of lead screw
2- Backlash in one or in both of ur lead screw
3- loss of steps.
4- both things (steps and flatten grapes) in original relief
I think u can try a small part of that relief with 60IPM and low acceleration value in a single pass finish maching....
it's running right now so far 15 hours i got a lot to learn. yes the pine does give it a horizontal flatness look that is less on maple. the pine one is in finish room, will show soon jim
i have a columbo 5 hp spindle and we have watched it while it is running.
it has a fan that i installed (electric and provided by pds) instead of the normal shaft fan that came on a spindle 8 years ago, it is warm but not hot
